Ring spotlight cam not charging unless solar unplugged and replugged
I have a spotlight cam that when I unplugged and replugged the solar panel it will start charging and it will say in the app “A ring solar accessory is connected and able to charge this device”. As soon as nighttime comes it will change and just say “connected” and stay like that and not charge the battery unless I go out again and unplug and replug the solar panel. To clarify it will stay saying “connected” until the batteries die unless I unplug and replug the solar panel.

Unfortunately, I have a new spotlight cam pro that is doing the exact same thing.

UI have the same issue. Whenever I disconnect and reconnect my solar panel, it initially charges for a day, but then the next day it stops charging and doesn’t resume until the battery is out - but it still says the camera is connected to a solar panel. Very frustrating. Seems like a software issue, not hardware.

I have the same exact issue. I have been having it since May. I have reached out to ring support and they send me a new camera and a new solar panel and the same issue keeps happening. I have place the solar panel in a new place and I bought an extension from ring. Same thing happens. It only changes the day I plug and unplugged. It was not happening for the first 4 months after I purchased the camera and the solar panel. Now, I cannot leave town or the camera will die. This is unacceptable. I invested on the expensive camera for this :(

I'm having the same issue. Brand new camera, just a few weeks old and it show connected, but only charges after I have unplugged and replugged the solar panel usb-c connector. Once it starts charging it works great until the next day. I have two batteries in the camera. I don't know if that is a factor or not. The days are short and cold so I haven't spent a lot of time troubleshooting this.

Hi @Guili. I would attempt a reset of your Spotlight Cam. You can do this by pressing and holding the setup button for 20 seconds, then releasing it. Once you reconfigure the device, it should remain in a charging state. Let me know if this helps!
