New ring spotlight stuck in update
I recently got a spotlight pro wired and when setting it up it would either stop updating mid update and say it’s my Wifi even though I have great Wi-Fi and other ring devices too . The camera was directly next to the router or it would finish the update I would access the camera then it would start an update again. I tried setting it up on a different phone, resetting the Wi-Fi and the device, even trying it on a different router. I thought it must be a faulty device so I returned it and got another and the same Is happening it just always updates then when it eventually stops i go on it and it just starts updating again. Anyone had this issue? Thanks

Having the same problem. We have 5 cameras, and one of them (that is closest to the router) keeps “updating”. Anytime I check it in live view, the next time I try to see anything, it is “updating”. Keeps happening.

I’m having the exact same problem with my new Spotlight Cam Pro. Right after every live view it says it’s updating. Must be a defective batch.

Im having the same problem. I have reset the device several times. It connects to wi-fi. The signal is very strong. It soon reports that its online, but then that "is installing an update. This may take up to 15 minutes. ..." this update cycle never completes. Camera is effectively inoperative. Please advise.

Hi @user41899. I'd recommend following up with our support team on this matter, especially since you received a replacement Spotlight Cam and are running into the same issue. It may require some advanced troubleshooting with your network, as there could be a firewall or security setting preventing the update from completing successfully. You can give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406).
