We installed a floodlight without a cam above our garage with the mount that came with. I want to swap it out with a camera floodlight. Will I need to remove the mount also or can I just swap the device? Are all of the floodlight mounts universal? Reason I’m asking is that the shingles are hard to drill into and we had to hire someone to help, I’m trying having to do that again if possible.

Hi @user82563. Did you install the Smart Lighting Floodlight Wired or Floodlight Battery? The Floodlight Wired, like the Floodlight Cam, needs to be installed on a 4" round UL-listed weatherproof electrical box. You shouldn’t need to drill holes into the wall directly, unless you also have to install a junction box because you don’t have one. For reference, you can see the installation process for the Floodlight Cam Wired Plus here. If you’re changing out a Smart Lighting Floodlight Wired for the Floodlight Cam, you would need to change out the mounting brackets on the junction box. This process wouldn’t require drilling into the wall though. I hope this helps clear things up.
