I was able to solve this for my camera, when I realized that a magnet I was using to attach the device was causing the error. I hope this helps some of those who are very frustrated as I was, if briefly!

Does the magnet in bottom of  a ring spot light camera have anything to do with the  battery open error message? Is this magnet suppose to activate some kind of switch that tells the camera if the battery door is open or closed.
