During setup of new device app says to turn of VPN but there is no VPN

I am trying to set up new Floodlight Cameras. But during the setup process using the app on my Android phone, after I scan the QR code on the device the App puts up a screen saying I need to turn off my VPN on my phone to complete setup. I don't have a VPN on my phone or my home network. How do I get around the app misfiring on a non-existent VPN?

Hi there, @TheRockyH! Besides double checking your mobile device for any VPN-like features, please also ensure there are no [Android apps that conflict with the Ring app](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115005889983-Issues-with-Android-apps-that-conflict-with-the-Ring-app). Alternatively, if you have another mobile device and can use it for the setup process in the Ring app, you might then be able to operate it normally from there on your Android device. Feel free to let us know how this goes! :)

Hi @drjcm72. Make sure your phone's location settings are correct and that you don't have any privacy or firewall restrictions in place that could impact the Ring app. If this concern persists, please share a screenshot of this message that you're receiving in the Ring app.

Im receiving the same issue. No VPN installed on home network or phone and Ring App is not responding when clicking on "VPN is off" ![Screenshot_20230408-155550_Ring|236x500](upload://5jvA7jPCsytjdlaSUezxwuVa1Wf.jpeg) Very aggravating. I also have already checked your list against my phone and do not have any of the restricted apps

If you use your phone or device with a corporate email with special access like blackberry connectivity, then your company may have installed its own vpn. You will need to turn that off or restart your device and setup the ring device before you log back into your corporate apps. This worked for me.

Thank you, that hint did it for me! My VPN software was off, but the AdGuard Adblock/tracker protection app does indeed set up its own VPN (which happens once and then never bothers you again, which is why I didn't remember it at first). After switching off AdGuard protection during the Ring connection process it worked.
