Disarm not working?

Hello, have set up my first Ring camera, but when I choose Disarm because I'm home, it's still triggered by my movement (so for now, having to switch it off completely from main wall socket). I thought Disarm would turn the camera off and not be triggered by my movements. Is the Disarm function not working or have I misunderstood what it means? Thanks.
