Live view deletes Pre-roll and motion detection footage

I had a motion detection warning and I opened live view from the notification. For a split second I could see a person before they disappeared from view but none of that recorded. No pre-roll recorded or any of the footage from when motion detection triggered the notification. Please help this may be the only footage I get of my dangerous ex now that he has seen the ring he will cover his face when he comes back.
