Ring Alarm
Sensors (Gen 2) Spontaneously Just Dying
I love most of ring products, but is it me or do the door/window sensors simply stop working after awhile? I'm so frustrated that I actually have to keep spares just to replace failed devices. Even with the Gen 2, I've had to replace all my sensors within 6 months. Totally unacceptable. So between this issue, low res camera's compared to the competition, no POE for exterior camera's and no PTZ, and no NVR for those who want local storage makes me want to buy all new for our new home being built. I wish Ring would just start making more durable, professional-grade products.

Hi there, @harrisinva! Your Ring Alarm devices and Sensors should certainly last a long time. A Sensor failing can often be resolved through adding a new battery, bringing the Sensor closer to the Base Station (connection), or resetting the Sensor. Check out our [help center article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000071906-How-to-Factory-Reset-Your-Ring-Alarm-Devices) for tips on resetting your Alarm devices. If this does not resolve your concerns, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041597471) to see how to contact support. I hope this helps! :)
