Ring alarm outside US

I'm thinking about getting this and getting it shipped to NZ. Obviously, the monitoring and backup cell connection won't work. But any other reason why the unit itself would not work outside of the US? (I'd just need a travel adaptor). Also, can you open up the unit and replace the cell - has anyone popped one of these things open? So if it does get released in this region down the line I can look at the cell connection. @Ring support - any plans to release the alarm into the AU/NZ region soon? All help greatly appreciated
