Record motion outside of zone, but alert only on motion inside of zone

Question

We had a neighbor last night that had a forced entry at 3:00am. The police wanted neighbors to check cameras for cars coming in and out during that time. Two of my cameras would have caught the video if it were not for the zones setup. I don’t want an alert every-time a car drives by, but it would be nice if I could record cars going by say between midnight and 5:00am that are outside of the defined zone, but only alert if the motion comes into my zone. It seems like this is a reasonable thing the camera should be able to do with simple software updates. Is it possible?
