I have been paying for monitoring service since I’ve installed the alarm years ago! Today I tripped it changing the batteries on a window sensor, yet no call from RING. Aren’t they suppose to call you?

Hi @user47235. You need to ensure [Professional Monitoring](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005322066-Understanding-Professional-Monitoring-and-Self-Monitoring) has been set up in the Ring app. It is always your choice to self-monitor your system or opt into Professional Monitoring. To change your monitoring status: 1. In the Ring app, open the menu **(≡)**. 2. Tap **Settings**. 3. Tap **Monitoring**. 4. Tap **Monitoring Type.** 5. Choose the new type of monitoring you want. If you enable Professional Monitoring, you will be prompted to choose a Primary and Secondary Contact and a Verbal Password. If you are in Practice Mode, you will need to Exit Practice Mode and confirm that you want to exit.
