Ring Alarm
Firmware Update Causing Many Sensors to Go Offline
Hello Ring, Did you all send out a firmware update for contact sensors yesterday and/or this morning around 7am EST? I'm guessing you did because roughly 10 of my Gen 2 contact sensors are throwing alerts at me saying that they're either offline or the window/door is open (they're not - I checked). This all happened within a 5-10 minute window for all of my effected sensors, which leads me to believe it was a firmware update that caused some temporary instability. They're slowly going back online one by one every 15-30 minutes or so. In my 3 years of using Ring, I've never had a batch of firmware update(s) do this (if in fact it is this) with all of the offline warnings at once. My Wifi and setup has all been the same configuration so nothing has changed in my setup to cause this. Is anyone else experiencing this right now? I know I can't be the only one who is going through this. It would be great if you all could post a warning/info message whenever you release an update like this that causes our devices to temporarily go offline for an extended period time so we're not all scrambling and needlessly trying to reset our sensors. Other than this, I haven't run into many issues with my alarm system and it's been pretty solid. Overall I'm really happy with Ring. Many Thanks!

Hi @user77787. I'm glad your sensors were able to come back online. As for the firmware release, we would not have that information. Also, since this is the Community, which is a public forum, we would not have access to looking into your account to see what could have caused this. Our support team will be able to take a look and further investigate what could have caused this.
