Failed sensor - won't reconnect or re-add after removal

One of my ring sensors stopped connecting. I tried changing batteries, reconnecting via the app and after that didnt work multiple times, I removed the device in order to re add it. When attempting to add it, the app says it needs a factory reset, which I've attempted multiple times but it still says it needs to be reset. When resetting, I am using the small hole with a paper clip, and I hold it until it stops blinking. It rapidly flashes green for 10 seconds or so, and then a steady red light shows for a couple seconds before going out. Does the red light mean the reset is unsuccessful? What else can be done? Does it need to be replaced?

    Hi @rubberducki83. What specific device is this? That will help me determine the correct troubleshooting steps.
