Ring should make a heat sensor that can be used for fire monitoring / protection with Ring Protect. Some home insurance companies (seems like the better/more stringent ones) require monitored heat sensors in attics and mechanicals rooms. Ideally, this new heat sensor should be powered by battery to avoid costly electrical work required to hard wire this type of sensor.

I really like the Ring Alarm product and it has allowed me to migrate from a wired ADT system to a homeowner install friendly environment. However, my original wired system allowed me to have 135 degree F heat detectors in the garage and furnace room where a smoke detector is inappropriate. I purchased the retrofit panel in hopes of using it with the Normally Open heat sensors to replace this function. However, I discovered the retrofit kit doesn't accomodate Normally Open circuits. I just placed an order for NC Heat Sensors and hope that it will work with 2K line terminating loads. Regadless, my hope is that Ring will consider adding Heat Detector/Alarms to the product offering.

I've installed the Retro Kit to my Ring Alarm and would like to add my two wired heat sensors to the system. The problem is that my current heat sensors are normally open switches. I’m confident that normally closed heat sensors would work with the Ring Alarm but it would be seen as a door/window. This would cause the police to be dispatched instead of fire should the sensor be tripped. It would be great if hard wired support could be given to both normally open/closed heat sensors including configuration as a heat sensor.

Hello, I have got a ring alarm system plus 4 cameras and a ring bell. When in disarmed mode, I still receive phone notifications from the camera / sensors. How do I turn these off? Its annoying being home and receiving 100s of notifications on my phone from the camera / sensors. Many thanks.

Hi @mgrivakis. At this time, notifications aren’t controlled via Modes. You can control whether or not your Ring Cameras detect and record motion, but you would need to use Motion or Global Snooze to temporarily silence motion notifications from cameras and doorbells. I’d also recommend adding your vote and feedback to this thread on our Feature Request board, which is asking for notifications to be controlled within the Modes settings.
