Cable length when installing stick up cam plug in on an external wall

I'm installing the camera on an external wall and I want to connect it to a junction box 50 cm from the camera. Is it permissible to shorten the cable supplied. Thanks Acr

Hi @Acr. Cutting the cable in any way will void the [warranty](https://shop.ring.com/pages/warranty) on your device, so we would definitely recommend against it. This includes cutting the cable in order to shorten it. You could try to secure the cable by affixing it to the wall with hooks or some other method that does not cut or damage the cable or Camera.
