Ring Alarm Station with Verizon LTE

Does anyone know where to get information on this unit. I have called and texted with both Ring and Verizon and came up with nothing. There is a location for a manual link on the Ring support page but it is plain text and not a link. I would like to know about locating the base with the LTE radio and if the base can take an external antenna. Seems like basic information. Everyone keeps sending me the pdf for the station without LTE.

Hey @BarkingDog. All information we have on this partnership with Verizon can be found [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038504331). If the information you're looking for is not found there, I recommend reaching calling Verizon at 1-800-922-0204 for more information. The devices will be purchased through them, so it's best to follow up with Verizon directly! :)

Thanks Chelsea. I will note 2 things. 1)This page in Ring support is where the dead link to the manual is. [https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049192091](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049192091) 2)On this same page it states: "Ring is responsible for providing support for your Ring Alarm products. If you need to reach Ring Customer Support, [click here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036196372)." Same response I got from Verizon support. Which is how I got here. Other ideas?

@BarkingDog Thanks for getting back to me! My apologizes, as I thought my team had updated it sooner. If you go back to the first link your referenced, it should now have a clickable link to download the manual. You can get directly to that manual also by going [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050317352). Let me know if you have any other questions on that! :) In regards to support; if your Ring device is not functioning/working/poor performance, you will reach out to Ring support via phone for more troubleshooting and help. If you have pre-purchase questions, how it works with a Verizon bill/account, where to purchase, and such like that, you will contact Verizon. In the event you need to contact Ring support, I recommend calling in directly, as this is a neighbor to neighbor support forum and not a direct line to support. Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We're taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19. This has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041597471) to see how to contact support.

Thanks, but still not addressing my questions. Looks like the LTE guide is the same as the regular unit except where it says backup for cellular by "Verizon LTE" So, I guess I need to give up. No information is available about placement of the base station with regard to the LTE radio, no information on external antenna, and no technical specifications. I do appreciate you trying help, but if you see in my orginal note I have already talked with customer support at both Ring and Verizon. Not a confidence builder when it comes to product knowledge.

@BarkingDog My apologizes that I do not have more information! When it comes to placement of the Base Station, it's really going to be about trial and error around your home. If it helps put it into perspective, the Base Stations that are not partnered with Verizon and sold by them use carriers from AT&T networks. Some neighbors were finding that AT&T was not available/strong in their area, thus our partnership with Verizon and using a SIM Card that uses their cell towers. Do you know if Verizon or AT&T are stronger in your area? I assume that Verizon is stronger and since you have interest in it, I assume your cellular carrier is Verizon, correct? If this is the case, you can turn off the wifi on your phone and just use your cellular data, and wherever you have the best signal/most bars in your home, is where you should place the Base Station. In addition, when you set it up, you will get a cellular strength of the backup in the app, so you can find where in the home the Base Station has the best signal through trial in error. Let me know if this helps put it into perspective! I had to do this with my Base Station myself, and I found that in my living room, close to my router and by a window on the wall, it was the best signal! You'll also want to avoid the Base Station being by lots of other appliances (kitchen and wifi devices) to avoid interference. :)
