Ring Video Doorbell
Your Free Ring Protect Trial is Active!
I am in the process of purchasing a home which looks like I will be closing on around the end of July. Like most people, I wanted to go ahead and start purchasing items that I will need for the home and seen the Ring Doorbell 3 came out, so I went ahead and bought one. I unboxed it, created an account, updated the firmware, charged the battery, etc so that its ready to go when I move in. I then put it back in its original packaging and put it in a moving box. I get an email saying my Free Ring Protect Trial is Active! and that it only lasts 30 days. Is there a way I can stop that trial and reactivate it when I actually move in and install the camera for use? This is my first Ring, so I don't even have a clue what features it gives me for free or paid yet, but I would love to see once I move in!

Hey @smeltn, congratulations on the new home! When setting up a new Ring device in the Ring App, you receive a free 30-day trial of the Ring Protect Plus plan as advertised. This trial is triggered as soon as the device is set up on the account and can't be temporarily suspended. You can review the features offered by the Protect Plus plan [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021900312-Ring-Protect-Plus-Information), and you're welcome to test out your Doorbell before moving so you can get a feel for how it works with these features. Namely, that the events recorded by the Doorbell will be stored in the Ring App for up to 60 days so you can go back and save them. The Protect Basic plan will also save your videos in the Ring App, which you can review [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022109691-Ring-Protect-Basic-Plan-Information).
