What is the maximium length of Cat6 cable for Ring doorbell Elite?

The recommended maximum length of Cat6 cable from my Power Over Internet router to a device is 100m (300 feet). Why does Ring only allow 15m (50 feet)? Can I use my Power Over Internet router to power my Elite Doorbell, or am I forced to use the crappy power adapter that comes in the box?

Hi @wpqs. If you choose to use a different Power Over Ethernet adapter, the adapter must meet 15.4W power standard and the IEEE 802.3af (PoE) or IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standard. There is not a specific maximum cable length, the Doorbell Elite just comes with both a 50ft and 3ft ethernet cable so the installation can be completed without having to purchase a separate ethernet cable.
