Video Doorbell Pro - WiFi freq. issue

Hi, I tried to raise this question via support channels, but unfortunately they have not been very helpful. Basically our wifi router is dual band (as most are these days), meaning that devices are able to connect to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz as the mood takes them. Trouble is 2.4GHz is slower, but much better for distance, and hence is the better choice my doorbell and outdoor stick up cams. Previous doorbell pro (wired) worked great, as it is limited to 2.4GHz, as the stick up cams are. Since I replaced the old doorbell with the Video doorbell pro (battery) which supports both 2.4 and 5GHz, I am often seeing poor wifi connection status and glitches in the matrix when viewing recordings. Having checked the connection with the router, it is always when it is running on 5ghz, on battery replacement it connects to 2.4GHz and works great.... until it switches to 5GHz. To confirm, the issue is not with the WiFi itself, it is a mesh system with 5 nodes providing really good coverage throughout the house/garden/garden office. It does not provide the option to split the 2.4 & 5GHz frequencies so that is not an option. My question is - is there a way to limit it to use 2.4GHz? I guess not, as I think I would have found it by now. Follow up questions - Is it planned to introduce such a function? Is anybody else seeing this issue? Reading some of the other issues on here it seems it could be a common issue, but is often just described as poor WiFi, when in reality it is more to do with the frequency choice, which seems it is not possible to adjust. Thanks for reading!

Hi @nickm. WiFi networks that are dual-band and have automatic switching will be problematic for devices that support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The best approach is to create a dedicated 2.4 GHz network for this device. If you are unsure of how to do this, you can contact your Internet Service Provider.
