Unable to connect with Live View

After using our Ring for several years, we've recently stopped being able to connect using "Live View." The app shows "Activating Device" ... and then "We're having trouble connecting to your Front Door." Oddly, if motion or a ring activates the video, it works fine. Thanks for any help.

I've got similar, but never records or activate on motion sensor. Device also drops off wifi all the time even when placed next to router so not a signal issue. Other cameras all work fine

Hi neighbors. It might be that you need to adjust some settings on your router. I have this same problem. It occurs in Live view on my devices (doorbell cam and stick up cam) using both both iOS and Android apps. Always "“We’re having trouble connecting to your device.” It never manages to connect. Your advice suggests adjusting router settings but I have completely deactivated the firewall in my router and it does not fix this issue. Live View works perfectly in the app "Rapid Ring". Live view worked perfectly for around 2 years before this started happening, and nothing has changed in my computer/networking setup since then. For these reasons, it really does feel like a bug has been introduced at some point with Live View.

Hi @Yobibit. What kind of phone are you using the Live View on? Since it works with the Rapid Ring app, it might have something to do with the permissions selected for your Ring app. I would also make sure that your Ring app is up to date.

My live view didn’t work for a week until I switched off my Surfshark VPN. I have no problem with live view anymore.

I have the same issue as you reported. Could you please Vote for this Feature Request? Hopefully with enough votes Ring may finally pay some attention to this. Thanks. https://community.ring.com/t/fix-the-ring-mobile-app-to-properly-use-lte-4g-without-the-many-reported-issues/112034
