I've only installed my video doorbell so far & I don't find it intuitive. Why can't I disable the tinkling bell every time someone, including me going to the bins, goes outside? It drives me potty. When I'm at home it's unnecessary. The Nest is apparently much better.

Hi @ValCar. You have various options to adjust and control how your Doorbell behaves and when you receive notifications. With the [Modes feature](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036107792-Control-All-your-Ring-Devices-with-Modes), you can choose whether or not your Doorbell detects and records motion based on which Mode you put it in. For example, you can set it to not detect and record motion when it is in the Disarmed Mode. Alternatively, you can also use the [Motion Snooze](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000047206-How-to-Use-Motion-Snooze-and-Global-Snooze) feature to temporarily silence motion alerts from your Doorbell. If you're going outside to take out the trash or do some yard work, you can use the Motion Snooze feature to silence the motion notifications for a selected amount of time. I hope this information helps. :)
