Screws for Ring mounting plates Doorbells and cameras

I have problems when mounting the back plates to a solid object on all ring cameras & doorbells as the screws are not strong enough, particularly if screwing into a HARD wood. Even being very careful. & drilling a pilot hole the head of the screw always churns up when either screwing in or even when trying to remove the screw I always have to replace the damaged screws
