Ring Video Doorbell
Ring Video Pro Lound Buzz at night
Ring Video Pro Hardwired make a loud buzzing sound at night, quite during daytime. Disarmed and still makea noise a night. Purchased new transformer from RIng since original was 8 years old and maybe not adequate. Noise began when new transformer installed. Cked wiring at main chime (NEW Broan). We have 2 Video Pros and both worked with old transformer except voltage varied fro 13v to 19v depending on day or night. Night caused the low readings and higher voltage during day. Perhaps need to return the RIng Transformer, less than 2 months old? Suggestions?

Thanks for reply. The Mech Chime is Nutone/Broan LA111WH. It is listed as Compatible. The transformer is making the Buzzing sound. It only starts the noise at a certain level of darkness. The original transformer was a Nutone CP905 rated at 16v,10VA. The new RIng we ordered was spec'ed at 16V, higher VA rating so we expected no trouble. There was no trouble or noise but felt it best to have a proper rated transformer. Guess we were wrong. If it ani't broke, don't fix it. :--) Should the transformer be returned and continue to use the old quite one?

C@user11553 I'm glad to hear that you were able to resolve the buzzing coming from your transformer by reinstalling the original transformer. I wouldn't want to speculate exactly what caused this to happen in the first place, but you can find our return policy [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022409351-Return-Policy) to see if you're able to return the Ring Transformer. You may be able to start the return process yourself, or you may need to reach out to our support team at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406) to complete the return process. :)

Hi @user11553. Is the buzzing sound coming from the Video Doorbell Pro itself or from your chime kit? If it's coming from the chime kit in your home, it's possible that it's not compatible with the Video Doorbell Pro. You can find a list of compatible chime kits in our Help Center Article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/209028546-Ring-Video-Doorbell-Pro-Chime-Kit-Compatibility-List). If you don't see your chime listed under the compatible ones, then you may need to replace it. It's also important to make sure that you have the correct chime type selected in the Ring app. For example, if you have a mechanical chime kit but the Ring app has it listed as digital. For the Video Doorbell Pro, follow the steps below to check your chime type in the Ring app: - Tap the **Menu** button in the top left - Tap **Devices** - Select your Doorbell Pro - Tap **Device Settings** - Tap **General Settings** - Tap **Doorbell Chime Type** and select the correct chime kit type If this problem persists after checking your chime kit and the chime type in the Ring app, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406) so they can troubleshoot further. If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support. :)
