Hi I am thinking of upgrading my ring video doorbell gen 1 to the latest version Video doorbell gen 3. Gen 1 is currently hardwired, as I don’t want to have to rely on batteries, and having to charge them. Can I use the same wiring on the Ring video doorbell gen 3 as with Gen 1. or do I need to change the resistor/transformer. does the latest Video Doorbell come with a wall mounting plate and screws?

Hi @Guggsy. The hardwiring instructions for each Doorbell model will vary slightly. You can find the instructions on how to hardwire a Video Doorbell 3 to an existing doorbell circuit here. A transformer with a voltage of XXXX VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz is required. Each Doorbell will come with the required materials for installation. I hope this helps.
