Ring Pro Goes Offline Every Night!

I have a new Ring Pro Doorbell, a new Ring transformer, and a new Ring Pro Chime. Every night around 11:45pm or after my Ring Pro Doorbell goes offline !!! Every night !!! I press the reconnect from my phone and nothing happens. I check the doorbell status around 3:00am or 4:00am and its back online. It's offline for 3 to 4 hours every night!!! It stays online all day. All of my other devices: Ring Floodlight, the Echo and the Chime works fine and remain online. They never get offline. Just the Ring Doorbell Pro. I have called support and they just suggest the same thing, reset my router when it's clearly not the router if all of the other devices I mention are woking and never get offline. I see from reading in the Ring community and Amazon reviews that there is a major problem with the Ring Doorbell Pro going offline often. Rebooting my router is not the solution. Any suggestions for fixing my Ring Doorbell Pro that goes offline every night for 3 to 4 hours?

Hi @user14868. If your Doorbell Pro is going offline every night around the same time, I'd recommend checking the settings on our router to see if there is anything that occurs around that time automatically. This could involve the firewall settings or be something like an automatic reset that may occur. Also make sure the [ports and protocols used by Ring devices](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/205385394-The-Protocols-and-Ports-Used-by-Ring-Devices) are open. You may need to reach out to your internet service provider for assistance with changing advanced settings on your router or network.

Hi, I was wondering if you managed to figure out what was wrong? I have the exact same issue but mines goes off from 8pm. My other ring (the one furthest away from the router) stays connected all night as dos everything else in it house. Thanks.

Hi. I have the same issue with my Video Doorbell 3. Goes offline around 2am, and then reconnect the next morning when I pressed the bell. Rest of my Ring devices were online throughout the night. Tried both 2.4 and 5.0, same issue. No issue during the day. Anyone found the solution?

That Ring transformer is only rated at 16AC at 30VA. That said, I went from a 16.5AC at 40VA to a 24AC at 40VA and no more issues. This worked for me and not saying it may work for you, however I noticed the Pro 2 doorbell would disconnect when someone rang the doorbell and "maybe" reconnect later, if I was lucky. This led me to believe the power was dropping enough to knock out the wifi signal and then I went researching. On Ring's very own Help site it states, "8-24 VAC voltage transformer required" and this is for the Doorbell Pro (formally Doorbell Pro 2). If the max is 24VAC, why would Ring sell a transformed that only goes to 16AC? In any event, I have had no further issues once I replaced with a 24AC 40VA.

I'm glad to hear that swapping out the transformer worked for you! Thank you for sharing. 😊
