Ring doorbell pro 2 power output level 3

I installed the wired doorbell where we had an existing doorbell and made sure the transformer is the proper 16V-30V. The doorbell works but device health shows out put is 25 V and level 3 (in red), even though power is “good.” What else could be happening and what should I try? The transformer is connected directly to the fuse box in the basement and it’s not new. But since it’s the appropriate voltage, why is the app still showing output is low?

Hi @Janorin1. Can you please share a screenshot showing this messaging you're receiving in the Ring App about your Doorbell Pro's power level? Are you experiencing any performance concerns in addition to this message about the power level?

I'm also seeing this same issue in the Ring app. Ring device is working fine, no issues at all. Yet seeing the Power Output level 3. ![IMG_1060|262x500](upload://5KitIKAz9JwbOr3RYd3eyOFvzlD.jpeg)

Hi @user17097. When you tap on Power Output, what does it say? Feel free to share another screenshot showing this screen as well.

Known Issue: if confirmed that you have a 16V-30a pr 24V-40a transformer installed and connected properly but still see 'Power Level 3' alert: 1. Go to 'Device Health' 2. Scroll to bottom of section 3. Initiate 'Reboot Device' (Reboot is very much needed after and transformer or wiring upgrade; don't trust any device power reporting until reboot is conducted) After the doorbell reboots, it will resample power output and display 'Power Level 1' If issue remains after reboot, more likely something wrong with tranformer or wiring setup.

How long should it normally take for the App to update following "Reboot" action is taken?

Hi @user23756. This should only take a few minutes.

This worked for me. Upgraded transformer and it said poor, level 1. Did reboot and all is good. ![Screenshot_20230520_200011_Ring|610x500](upload://8nAjkbOSsFaBR15NDqcRaWXBlHJ.jpeg)

Hi neighbors. If you're seeing any alerts under the Power Level for your Doorbell, please check to ensure the transformer you have meets the power requirements for your Doorbell. You can find the power requirements for each model of Doorbell [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004668746-Ring-Video-Doorbells-Product-Comparison). If your transformer is providing sufficient power and you've verified the [installation was completed correctly](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054675132-Video-Doorbell-Pro-2-Installation-guide-), the next step you can take is to reboot your Doorbell. This can be done by tapping Reboot This Device at the bottom of the Device Health page. The reboot process may take a few minutes. If none of these suggestions help and you're having persistent power problems with your Doorbell, you may need to consult a qualified electrician for assistance. You can also reach our support team at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support.

I am having this problem! Our electrician and I have been on a journey with this Ring Doorbell Pro 2. Here is a summary from him of all the things we have done after the initial installation worked for a few days and then blew the transformer. We are now 5 transformers into the process: "Extended wiring at front door to make leads long enough to connect ring doorbell. Toned out wire from entry to attic to verify correct wire going to button. Install Transformer at 16 volt 24 volts added 20 ohm 50 watt resistor to circuit. And Four Transformers later system function for about 2 hours and then the Transformers no longer supplying voltage." It now works most of the day and , says "Transformer voltage Good (21V)" and "Power Output Level 3." I've been trying to pay attention and check it throughout the day and it seems like it loses power at around 3 pm every day. HELP! A doorbell is not super useful if it only works sometimes!

Hi @Masala. A resistor should not be used in the installation of the Doorbell Pro 2. Your Doorbell Pro 2 is designed to be installed on a standard doorbell circuit with a transformer supplying 16-24 volts AC at 50 or 60Hz, 40 VA max. The Pro Power Kit should also be installed on your chime kit. You can reference the installation instructions [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054675132-Video-Doorbell-Pro-2-Installation-guide-).
