Ring Doorbell Gen 2 Battery Issues

Hi I recommended my father-in-law buy a Ring Doorbell G2, but his battery is currently lasting less than 10 days and this is with Live View and motion alerts disabled so he’s really just using it for doorbell alerts. I can’t see any other settings to change that would save battery life, so does this sound like a faulty battery / unit ?
