Ring Doorbell constantly ringing
false-alarm
notifications

I've just moved in to a new place and purchased a wired Ring doorbell, the same model the previous tenants were using. It was working as expected the 1st day, but overnight it started ringing every 30 seconds when no one was at the door, for several hours at a time. After resetting, re-pairing, and cutting / draining power to the device over the past few days to no avail, I ended up disabling all notifications and doorbell volume for the sake of our sanity. I've just checked the app, and it's still throwing Missed Ring alerts! ![Screenshot_20210701-095541|397x500](upload://aZ7qIckRxAyk6OBpr9oTpcmbvoj.jpeg) The device health shows all green. Transformer is 22V-30VA Did I get a bad unit?

Hi @tnactim. Is this a Ring Pro? If so, I suggest checking to make sure that your Pro Power Kit is properly installed. You can learn more about that in this Community Post [here](https://community.ring.com/t/hardwiring-checklist-video-doorbell-pro/37520). I hope this helps.

Hi @tnactim. Thank you for updating me. If you've ensured that your Pro Power Kit is correctly installed on your Chime Kit, you'll want to verify your Chime Kit Selection in the Ring app under the Device Settings > General Settings menu. If you are unsure if it is installed properly, you can always share a few pictures here. If this continues, I suggest reaching out to our support team to deep dive on this. Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041597471) to see how to contact support.

It's not a Pro, and there's no Ring Chime Kit involved. This issue is still ongoing. I'll give the support line a call whenever I get a chance next week (I'm not home very often, unfortunately).

I purchased a Ring Doorbell Wired and he is having exactly the same problem. We installed it correctly, placed the jumper on the existing doorbell chime as required, and connected an Amazon Echo for an indoor chime. The transformer connected to the doorbell is 24 volt. It appears that this problem is happening to more than just us. Should we be sending the Ring Doorbell Wired back and find another video doorbell option?

I just got off the phone with Ring Support (not that helpful, I might add) who stated that my 24 volt transformer is too high voltage for the Ring Doorbell Wired. I was astounded by the response. Here is the language from Ring that addresses the transformer "Must be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 10-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz for continuous charging." Hey Ring Support, please note the voltage requirement above. It doesn't read 'we recommend a 16 volt transformer to work properly'. I can see how people are exasperated over this problem. I will install a 16 volt transformer, but have no idea that it will resolve the problem.

Hi @Scott-Jonda. Thanks for sharing your feedback on this matter here. Definitely keep us updated on what happens when you install the new transformer, as it may be helpful for other neighbors if that does resolve your concern. If it doesn't, I would definitely recommend following up with our support team again. Let them know that you've contacted them previously about this and that you've also installed a different transformer to try and correct it.

Did anyone find a fix for this? I'm tired of constantly resetting and setting up. I'm about to throw it away
