Ring doorbell 2nd gen update issue on set up

Just got my new Ring video Doorbell 2nd gen. Fly through all the set up steps then it tries to do an update. For hours. And hours. so I reset it and try again and it gets stuck updating for hours and hours. so I reset it, reset the WiFi, use a 2.4ghz-only channel, set goes great until the update stage the wait for hours and hours. What a dreadful product experience so far. How do I set it up and use it? Looks like users have been having this problem for at least 2 years based on similar community posts.

Hi @user_fc5092. You are following the correct steps to complete the setup process, but something is causing the Ring Doorbell to get stuck on its initial update. You've tried most of the troubleshooting steps I would have suggested. One other thing I'd suggest is to ensure the ports and protocols used by Ring devices are open on your network.
