Ring Doorbell 2 "Motion Detection" slider not working

Last few days I've been trying to figure out why when I toggle on "motion detection" on my Ring Doorbell 2 it just toggles back to off after the zone configuration wizard closes. Tried logging out and back in and restarting the doorbell.I found the following link minutes after it had been closed presumably by Ring staff with no solution.
