Do you need the battery to work in the Gen 2 video doorbell if it is hardwired ? The battery died in our Ring Gen2 and its only a year and a half old. Hoping we can still use it if it is hard wired.
Good question! Any Video Doorbell models that are designed and sold as a battery-powered device will only receive its primary source of power from the battery. While wiring can be applied for chime kit use or a trickle charge, this does not replace power source and cannot power the Doorbell alone.
