Ring Doorbell 1 to Ring Doorbell 2 screw mounting pattern

I'm thinking about switching out my Ring Doorbell (gen 1) with a Ring Doorbell 2.  Is the screw pattern the same for both mounts or do I have to drill new holes for the Ring Doorbell 2?

Glad you asked @me512! The Video Doorbell Gen 2 is not backwards compatible with generation 1 mounting brackets, wedge kits, or solar chargers. This is due to a slight difference in dimensions. To answer your specific question, while the screw holes might be close to the existing ones, you may be required to drill new holes for this installation.
