Ring Battery Doorbell (2024) - battery drain when hardwired
I just installed the new Ring Battery Doorbell (2024 model) yesterday. This particular doorbell has a non-removable battery. We were able to hardwire it to our house using our existing doorbell wiring (we previously had a Google Nest doorbell connected to it). It was my understanding when purchasing this doorbell that the hardwired setup would charge the Ring doorbell's internal battery. However, I've noticed that the battery life has dropped 5% just in the first 12 hours or so that we've had it installed. Does anyone know for sure whether hardwiring the Ring Battery Doorbell will keep its internal battery charged? Or am I going to be removing this doorbell from the wall every few weeks to charge it? If so, then I'll likely return it for a different model. Thanks for your help.
