Plug in adapter for video doorbell 3 plus

hi, i am looking to buy a power adapter for the 3 plus. this is the one which is supposed to be compatible. [https://en-uk.ring.com/collections/accessories/products/video-doorbell-plug-in-adapter](https://en-uk.ring.com/collections/accessories/products/video-doorbell-plug-in-adapter) But i have read the specification on this and it says it has a 24VDC output. i was under the inpression that DC was not supported on the 3 plus as i have read that in one of the manuals regarding hardwiring.[https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041599492-How-to-Connect-Your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-3-Plus-Directly-to-a-Low-Voltage-Transformer-Without-a-Pre-existing-Doorbell-](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041599492-How-to-Connect-Your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-3-Plus-Directly-to-a-Low-Voltage-Transformer-Without-a-Pre-existing-Doorbell-) the first bullet point. i raised this question to ring support but couldnt get a clear answer, and was told that it is infact AC output and not DC, but the website specification hasnt been changed yet. and i was just supposed to take his word for it that the adapter will work. Has anyone used this plug in adater with a 3 plus and does it work properly ? thanks

Hi @aidan\_mcdonnell. DC power is not supported when hardwiring the Doorbell directly to an existing doorbell circuit with a transformer. This is different from using the Plug-In Adapter that you linked, which is compatible with the Video Doorbell (2nd Generation), Video Doorbell 3, Video Doorbell 3 Plus, and Video Doorbell Pro. For installation of the Plug-In Adapter, you'll just need to plug it into a standard UK electrical socket and then run the cable to the Doorbell. I hope that clarifies things for you! :)
