New Ring Doorbell 3 not picking up all motion
hardwired-battery-video-doorbell

I have just installed a new Ring Doorbell 3 and it is not picking up all motion. I have increase the motion sensitivity to max and set the motion zone (only 1 big zone because I’m confused about the need for multiple zones). The doorbell has been positioned 120cm from ground level. There are no steps or incline. Is anyone able to help?

Hi @RhiC. Try checking out Caitlyns guide to optimizing your doorbells motion detection [here](https://community.ring.com/t/caitlyn-s-guide-to-optimizing-your-doorbell-s-motion-detection/48107). This has tons of great information on getting your doorbell to detect motion properly. Mine does the SAME THING. I paid 180$ for a doorbell that only detects the cars driving by. Despite 4 phone calls to customer support for help nothing has been resolved! I suggest you too call customer support and complain. I bought a stick up cam to replace this doorbell because I have now lost 2 packages in the last 3 months due to the fact that you can walk up on my porch with out the doorbell doing anything. My last useless conversation with support; Support : every time it’s not working take the Battery out for 30 seconds and put back in Me: sooooooo you want me to constantly take the battery out of this doorbell every time I think it’s not working? Support: yes you recycle the doorbell Me: and what if I’m not home and this happens? Support: you MUST take battery out to recycle the doorbell That’s LITERALLY how useless support was. They don’t care at all!!!! They got our money and could give a SH*T. Obviously this problem with the doorbell 3 is reoccurring so they need to look further into it!
