Motion Sensor on Ring Doorbell?
battery-video-doorbell

I have set my doorbell up, and customised the motion zone to only include my garden and pathway. However if someone enters my gate into my garden this is not recorded as motion, yet a car driving past on the road in front of my house triggers the motion sensor even though it is not in the motion zone created? Totally confused here so any help is much appreciated

Hi @JoJames25. While it's definitely important to adjust the Motion Zones to your preferences, it's also important to consider the installation height and angle of your Doorbell. If the gate or garden are not fully in the Doorbell's view, it may not be able to accurately detect motion in that area. We have a guide on optimizing motion detection for Doorbells [here](https://community.ring.com/t/caitlyn-s-guide-to-optimizing-your-doorbell-s-motion-detection/48107), which covers the placement of your Doorbell and some potential solutions that may work for you. After reviewing the settings and placement of the Doorbell, you can a perform a [reboot](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/7438395032980-How-to-Reboot-your-Ring-Doorbell-or-Security-Camera-from-the-Ring-App-) from the Device Health page if you're still experiencing issues. For further troubleshooting assistance with this, I'd recommend getting in touch with our support team at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406).
