Modes Disapearing for Protect Basic Plan

We were so pleased with our new ring doorbell and how the app worked. I was about to buy a second camera for the back yard and upgrading to the "Protect Plus Plan".  Not anymore! Like many others I'm not happy with the proposed change of removing modes for the basic plan.   Sad to say, but this sounds like another fine example of "American Greed". Doesn't the owner of ring make enough on the high market share they have. This will lose you some of that market share as time will show. Respectfully, Jamin1969

    I'm having the same issue today. I was just told that the basic plan no longer has the mode option. I already paid for that feature, and they should keep the modes in effect until the next billing cycle, but they refuse to do it.

      I just spent 20 minutes with a Ring support supervisor expressing my frustration and disappointment with the modes features being removed from the basic plan. This was an important feature unilaterally remove by Ring.  In addition, I paid for a 1 yr basic subscription which included this feature.  Now it’s no longer part of the basic plan.  Corporate “bait and switch.”  Supervisor was understanding, but unwilling to push my call to the corporate level.   Removing that feature is nonsense!   As you said, it is a popular feature that most everyone uses. Just another example of corporate greed. SMH I hope many other users loudly complain about the removal of this feature. If you’re reading this, please call and complain to a supervisor. Maybe we can get the feature restored until our annual subscription expires.  If this doesn’t happen, they will lose me as a customer, since moving up to the next plan makes no financial sense to me. I only own 1 doorbell. I AM CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU to file a complaint. I urge others to follow suit.

        Should we take this to some other social media outlet, instead of allow Ring to control the discussion of our complaints with the changes Ring has made in the middle of our contracts?

          I have been a Ring subscriber for several years, and I was not notified that the basic plan would no longer support modes, I have been searching for it, when I tap modes it says I need a plan, well I have a plan and modes do not work I'm not very happy.

            Also I just bought a new Ring Pro for $230 and I pay $50 a year for the basic plan. I would like the mode option back. Not sure if I'll install the new Ring pro I bought.
