Missing people coming to door but catching cars?

Our ring looks directly down our walkway.  Nothing out of the ordinary.  However it misses EVERYTHING.  It misses packages being delivered.  It misses people walking right up to it.  I tried to optimize my Ring per the directions and then I got false alerts every five minutes.  When I set up a zone I choose the walkway and sidewalk area.  However it misses everything BUT cars driving down the street or people that walk their dog.  My neighbor walked right up to the door and nothing.  UPS delivered a package, NOTHING.  The package getting stolen, NOTHING.  I was thinking of expanding my RING coverage with more cameras and their home security but have changed my mind.  I went with ADT which uses ARLO cameras.  Hopefully they will be better.
