Missed motion events

Several motion events have not been recorded. Two that I know if are yesterday when my wife left the house and today when I left the house. It seems to be capturing most other events, like when we arrive at the house and wheneve a car goes by. Why would it skip some events? There may be others that I am not aware of. I have the Ring Pro doorbell.
