Leaving old doorbell button?

I just installed a new Ring Wired. My old mechanical doorbell had two buttons, one front door and one in the garage. I successfully replaced the one on the front door with my new Ring Wired and installed the jumper cable. However, I'm wondering about the button in the garage. Do I need to remove it and cut the wires? Will it still ring the mechanical bell? Will it cause harm if it is pressed?

Hi @kdwise. I checked with my team on this configuration, and we recommend disconnecting the wires to the second button just to ensure everything works properly and there is no damage caused to your Doorbell. I hope that helps! :)
