Installing Ring Video Doorbell Pro - Can't find chime

Hello, I'm looking to install a ring pro in a house that was recently rebuilt (aprox. 5 years ago). When we bought the house, no doorbell was installed, but there is a backplate where a doorbell would go by the front door (with wiring underneath).I can find the doorbell transformer in the attic, but I can't for the life of me find a doorbell chime. Is it possible there was never a doorbell chime installed? Can I just wire the ring power pro to the transformer, install the ring to the external wires, and forget about the chime?Thanks!
