My brother has a cheaper and more basic ring doorbell to me and he can view things which have happened at his door afterwards. HE DOES NOT SUBSCRIBE TO ANYTHING. Since my "free trial" ended I can't view any videos. I get loads of notifications that there is motion at my door but by the time I click on live view there is nothing there anymore. So if my house was broken into I would have no evidence!! Is this right??

Hi @user36672. If you want your Ring device to record, you will have to subscribe to one of our Ring Protect Plans. We have this page [here](https://ring.com/protect-plans) with information on the plans we have available. We also have this Help Center [article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030333671-How-to-Subscribe-to-a-Ring-Protect-Plan) on how to subscribe to a plan.
