How to switch from 1st to 2nd gen Doorbell
We have a Ring Video Doorbell (1st generation) and bought now a Ring Video Doorbell (2nd generation). How can I replace the 1st and keep my basic protect plan? I want to give the 1st as a gift to our daughter but without our subscription plan.

Hey @Freek\_Bosveld. You will need cancel your current Protect Basic Plan, and then set up the Doorbell 2nd Gen on your Ring account after this, which will activate a 30 day free trial. After this trial or during, ensure you sign up for another Basic Plan that can take over when the trial is over. This way, you are maximizing what you get for free and cutting the Basic Plan off as soon as the Doorbell 1st Gen is removed from your account. To remove the Doorbell 1st Gen, you will go into the Ring app \> Main Menu \> Devices \> Doorbell 1st Gen \> Device Settings \> General Settings \> Remove This Device. To cancel the plan, you can learn more about this in our Help Center Article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022109431-Upgrading-Changing-or-Canceling-your-Ring-Protect-Plan). If you have any issues cancelling the plan or removing the Doorbell from your account, let me know! :)
