Hardwired Video Doorbell 4 not charging sufficiently

Our hardwired Ring Doorbell 4. battery doesn’t seem to be charging as it did previously. This degradation of the product through what appears to be a software upgrade is all too familiar a problem with previous Ring products. Looking at alternatives to this product if Ring can’t provide adequate customer support.

Hi @Ruthenium. Does the Video Doorbell 4 not charge when you are plugging the battery in to the charger, or do you notice the battery losing its charge quickly on a day-to-day basis? If you're in an area with harsh winter weather, this could be why you're noticing the battery on your Doorbell 4 discharging at a quicker rate than you normally would expect. You can read more about how cold weather affects your Doorbell's battery in our Help Center Article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005939463-Cold-Weather-and-Battery-Powered-Ring-Doorbells).

I can charge the battery using the USB cable and it will charge. The weather is not cold here, and this behavior just started within the last week, with what appeared to be a software update that added new features and j the app. In the past, the hardwired connection kept the battery satisfactorily charged.

I am having the same issue. No previous issues with charing until this past week. No freezing temperatures. Doorbell is hardwired. It is showing charging icon and hardwired on setting but battery continues to be depleted

Hi neighbors! I'd recommend checking to see if your Doorbell has been experiencing a higher number of events recently, as this can impact how quickly the battery is draining if your Doorbell is recording more often. You can also reset the Doorbell by holding down the setup button for at least 20 seconds. Once the reset is complete, reconnect the Doorbell to your wifi by setting it back up in the Ring App. Should this concern persist, our support team can assist with troubleshooting more in-depth to determine what the best solution is.
