Hard Wiring 1st Gen Video Doorbell

troubleshooting

I have a 1st Gen Video Door Bell, currently running on battery power only. I want to hardwire it. So I've run a power cable from the video doorbell located at the front of my house, to a power point located in my kitchen, approx. 15 meters in distance. Can I use the Ring 2nd Generation Plug-in adapter and connect it to the power cable end, located at my kitchen?? Do l need a resistor as well.

Hi @user50825. If you are using the Plug-In Adapter, no additional power cables are needed. You can reference this Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044443152-Hardwiring-your-Video-Doorbell-).

Thank you Tom. I will now proceed and connect the Gen 2 Plug-in adapter without a resistor to the Gen 1 Video Door Bell. Cheers
