Ring Video Doorbell
Echo show not connecting to ring.com
I have installed my ring video doorbell and a new echo show 5. They are booth on the same wifi network, ( I also got a chime pro and tested for signal strength), with good signal strength showing full signal on the ring app. I have paired the amazon and ring accounts (same email on both and on the echo) I have added the alex skill and configured it to send notifications to my echo devices. When someone rings the doorbell, I get the the sound notification on my chime and my alexa speakers. I also get the notification on the echo show, but no video. The echo shows opens a screen saying connecting to ring.com, they I can hear the audio from the door but then it says it cannot open the video. I can see the live view fine on the ring app and also on the ring website on my laptop (both on the same network) but no video on the echo show. I have deleted the skill and the device from the alexa app and reinstall it, I have updated both apps, reset to factory setting the echo show, made shure that wifi signal is strong, everything up to date, same accounts, but no luck with video. The funny things is that it times out trying to show the video on the echo show 5, just audio and then it closes it. Also if i open the alexa app on my iphone I get audio but no video, evethough it shows a red notifications saying its live, and in the same iphone if i go to the ring app I can see the live video. So it seems to be a problem with ring.com sending the live video to alexa, while not having a problem sending it to its own app. I do not have end to end video encryption enabled on the ring account.
