Thank you for sharing this with us, neighbors! The required operating temperature for the Doorbell Pro is -5 to 120 degrees F (-20.5 to 48.5 degrees C). If your device is in direct sunlight, this can certainly cause the device to feel warm, in addition to supplied voltage and operating temperature. If you feel that your Video Doorbell Pro is too hot given the above information, Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. I'm wondering if the power pack is too large? Mine is also very very hot. The power pack is a lot larger than I thought it would be. I unplugged it, seems unsafe.

Mine has been offline for a while. I thought it would reconnect and it hasn't. I've attempted to reconnect it to the wifi and it will not reconnect. While the battery is connected, the doorbell itself is ridiculously hot. Hard reset does nothing. No white rotating light, no blue light, no sound, nothing.

Original poster claims plug in chime gets hot, not warm, which is how support responded. They claimed a little warmth from an electrical device is normal, which it is, but we’re talking too hot to touch the rear surface. I’m having same issues. My plug in chime is so hot all the time, it cannot be handled. Have read the same complaint from many chime owners of extreme heat with these units. Ring Co. seems to not be able to resolve the issue. They have sent out additional chimes to customers, and still have the same issues with extreme heating of unit. Most chime users plug them in and never pay attention to them and to do realize the extreme hot temperatures they are generating. If this cannot be resolved, other than unplugging it, might just be time to use a different video doorbell device.

Same thing here. Warm to the touch. Maybe too much voltage?
