Ring Video Doorbell
Doorbell not working when someone presses button
For some reason our Video Doorbell 2 has all of a sudden stoped working when the button is pressed. Everything else seems to still be working (Motion notification & live view etc) - But when the button is pressed it works from outside (makes the tone and ring flashes) but i get no notifications on my phone, Linked Chime or Alexa (which i have all had previously set up and working) - Also doesn't show up in the history for a missed ring. I've ran the Troubleshooting and Tests from within the app and they all seem to say everything is working fine - But obviously it's not. I did think about completely resetting the doorbell back to factory settings and starting again but want to avoid that if possible as it has taken me ages in the past to get it set up and working how we wanted it with Zones etc.

Hi Tom. I’m having the exact same issues and I’ve tried your solutions and it’s still not working. Everything seems fine other than when someone presses the button, the light doesn’t come on and it doesn’t register as a ring. I can go in the app and see a live feed so I know the camera is working. I’ve tried hard resetting the doorbell and this seemed to sort it for a few days but now it’s happened again. Any other ideas?

CHi @jgordon99, happy to chime in here. Since you've already done basic troubleshooting such as a reset and the concern still persists, would you mind following up with our support team on this? They can pull up your account and device in order to take a closer look and diagnose what the problem is. You can** give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. Hi @adp1983. One thing you can try is toggling off a setting in the Ring app. On the device page, toggle OFF Ring Alerts. The close the app and open it back up. Go back to the device page and toggle ON Ring Alerts. If this doesn't work, try uninstalling the Ring app, rebooting your phone, the reinstalling the Ring app. This will prompt you to sign back in to the Ring app. After that, allow the permission and test it. This should work. Best of luck!
