Ring Video Doorbell
Connecting Ring Doorbell 2 to a virgin media hub 5
I recently had virgin media installed broadband and have a new Hub 5 rooter, my ring doorbell gen 2 will not connect to the rooter. Virgin media suggested I contact ring as the rooter May not be compatible. Are they just passing the buck? How can I get this resolved?

Don’t get the hub 5 is my advice! I’m waiting for a supervisor to call (never gonna happen!) trying to get Virgin media to accept responsibility for the problem with my ring doorbell not connecting. Apparently the solution is I have to pay for someone to come and sort it out from virgin! Complete scam! I’ve got an old hub that they insisted on changing on Monday where everything was working perfectly now can’t connect to doorbell (gen 2)! They had the cheek to tell me it was my problem because everything else could connect! They completely missed the point about it all working fine before the rubbish hub 5 was installed!

Not sure if you've managed to get your Ring Doorbell to connect. We had the same problem for months and nothing worked. We have Ring gen 2 and Hub 5, the bell worked fine for over a year and suddenly it decided to disconnect from the hub. It worked fine on my hotspot though. We tried disabling 5ghz, split the 2.4ghz and 5ghz, creating a guest wifi, everything you can imagine. Contacted both Ring and Virgin Media and they were unable to help, with the latter trying to charge us to get someone from the support team to have a look at the issue. FINALLY, found something on the net and thought to give it ago and it WORKED 💪 We changed the router setting to Modem mode and then factory reset the router using the small button at the bottom. We then reset the Ring Doorbell, all good now.

Hi @Johnebegood. If you recently changed your router and your device is not connecting, you may need to configured the router to allow you to connect to it. Be sure you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz network and using the correct [WiFi channels](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/218144403-In-app-setup-failing-due-to-router-or-modem-issues#:~:text=Check%20your%20wifi%20channels&text=Channels%201%2C%206%20and%2011,get%20the%20fastest%20signal%20possible). To my knowledge, there aren't any routers that are incompatible.
