Compatible Door Chime Not Working

I currently have a Style Selections #SS-7582-03 digital door chime. When I connect my Ring Doorbell Pro to the chime, the chime does not ring, I only get notification on my phone. The chime came with a diode to use. If I install the diode, the chime rings constantly and never stops. If I remove the diode, the looping chime stops but then I am no longer able to use the chime. I did check the compatibility list and my brand and model is listed as compatible. What am I doing wrong?
